The Fae tonight – in session for the RTÈ2 program Sessions From Oblivion and recorded on June 12, 2025.

Formed in January 2022, The Fae play loud faerie music inspired by Alt-Rock, power-pop, and Goth rock modalities.
Debut EP ”Bloodrush” was released in September 2023, and saw them become one of the most exciting new bands to emerge from Ireland in recent years.
Early support came from Steve Lamacq at BBC 6music in the first week of release, as well as Nels Hylton at BBC1, John Kennedy at Radio X, Hot Press and Nialler9.
Follow up single ”So You Said” was released via the Scruff Of The Neck singles club in August 2024, followed shortly after by the announcement that the band intend to return to live performance, following a 1 year hiatus due to Guitarist/Vocalist Emma Hempton’s liver transplant and recovery.
Now that Emma has fully recovered, they are picking up where they left off and this session marks their first appearance anywhere in over a year – a little unsure in places, but a lot of heart and a ton of energy and a great crowd to play to.
Another Irish band to keep an eye on in the coming months.
