Michael Kiwanuka
Michael Kiwanuka – Soul is in some good hands and heading in some good directions.

Two tracks by Soul/Folk sensation Michael Kiwanuka tonight, recorded at Perth Concert Hall on October 18, 2017.

With so much new music and new artists coming on the scene, largely due to the dark days of Pandemic Lockdowns over and the music community getting back on its pre-COVID feet, the flood is pretty intense and some artists are running the risk of getting lost in the tsunami.

Michael Kiwanuka is astonishing and he’s been getting a lot of notice in recent years, which is great. I ran across these two tracks, recorded at the Perth Concert Hall in October of 2017 and the second track, Any Day Will Do Fine is a standout and hasn’t, as far as I can, been recorded in concert all that much, save for this performance and one from Austin City Limits, but I wanted to include this one despite it being an audience recording and a little shaky in spots. The intensity of the performance is the key element here and certain blemishes can be overlooked where Michael Kiwanuka’s haunting artistry are concerned.
