More bands from the extraordinary London Calling 2014 festival from earlier this month
Tonight it’s Wolf Alice, a band from North London who have been together a little over three years and whose debut single came out in February of 2013.
One of those bands who hold nothing back, fronted by the dynamic Ellie Rowsell who wrings emotion and energy out of every syllable. They are a band very much on the radar to pay attention to in the coming months.
They’ve been putting in a busy tour schedule since last year, even putting in an appearance at this years SXSW in Austin, but sadly no word on any upcoming U.S. dates – I’m sure that will be remedied as this band is ready for a wider audience. But for now they are concentrating primarily on UK dates – so if you happen to be over in Brighton, Manchester of Bristol in the next couple of weeks, by all means, check them out.
In the meantime, if you’re stuck here, the next best thing is to hit the play button and crank this one up. The wonderful folks at VPRO in The Netherlands have done themselves proud (once again) by getting every note for posterity.
Further evidence this is shaping up to be a good year for music.
