Les Lullies In Session – Radio Nacional España – May 25, 2024 – RNE Radio 3 –

Les Lullies in session for this day before Friday. Recorded in session at Radio Nacional España’s Radio 3 Studios on May 25 of this year.

Yes, Punk is alive and well and in many places you might not expect; Montpelier in France might be one of them. But Les Lullies have been carving up a storm since 2016, or as they put it “on the road to nowhere since 2016”.

They have a new album, Mauvaise Fois which was released only a few days ago via Slovenly Records here in the U.S. – further information on who Les Lullies are and what they’re about is had by their website bio, which nails it:

The band’s debut EP, recorded by Marc Hacquet, was released in February 2017 on Spanish label Discos Meteoro. The second one, recorded at Swampland by Lo Spider, has been available since November 2017 on Slovenly Recordings (USA). Their very first LP was put out in October 2018 on Slovenly Recordings as well, and was recorded and mixed yet again by Lo Spider again and mastered by Tim Warren.

The second album is the result of a slightly different piece of work. Easy does it may as well have been their motto. They indeed took more time for both writing and recording the songs as it was impossible to tour whereas the previous ones were all made very fast with no time to think. It was recorded by Maxime Smadja at Château Vergogne, who brought all his savoir-faire to the band’s sound. Cream of the crop stuff.

This time, they took advantage of this weird conundrum we’re in to offer us something a tad different. French-sung only tracks for a more personal twang on their brand of rock’n’roll. Overtones of Normandy’s seminal bands (Fixed Up, Dogs, Sub Kids) can be heard throughout as well as some other influences ranging from The Real Kids, Phil Spector, and glistening glam rock to some Records-like power pop for good measure and, as always, touches from Australia’s very own Saints. All of this maelstrom digested and fittingly spat out Lullies-style! The record is sure to provide a much-needed rock’n’roll slap in your face. Stay tuned cause the release date will be unveiled shortly.

But it’s from constant gigging that the band really won over its audience with raw, exciting shows.lullies

The band toured all over from France, Europe, the UK and across the pond in the US and Canada… They also played numerous festivals such as We’re loud, Funtastic Dracula Carnival, Bule Bule Toga Fest, Cosmic Trip, Fuzzville, Binic Folk Blues Festival you name it.

This ain’t rocket science, mon frère, it is only rock’n’roll. And we wouldn’t have it any other way!

Now all you have to do is press play and give it a loud-listen. Tour dates around France at present. Nothing in the U.S. at the moment, but like everything, it can change any minute. So stay close to their website for more information. We make it so easy for you – all you have to do is sit there and let us pelt you with high-voltage notes.
