Verde Prato – in concert – La Radio Encendida Festival – March 19, 2023 – Radio Nacional EspaƱa –

Back over to Spain this week for a concert by Verde Prato, recorded at La Radio Encendida Festival on March 19th of this year.

Recording under the name Verde Prato, Colombian artist Ana Arsuaga sings in Basque, honoring the traditions of the ancient Vascones and Aquitanians.

This concert comes right at the time of the release of her latest album, Adoretua which was released on March 3rd. As she explained in an interview to promote the album, Adoretua is a deeply personal album that paints a wide tapestry of styles and genres.

Verde Prato is a unique artist emerging from a wave of female singer-songwriters who express their identity through the power of the voice. The naked but striking neo-folk of this Basque artist has captured considerable attention and been critically applauded for her her immense talent. Her first album “Kondaira eder hura” gathered considerable attention and favorable reviews and was considered “album of the year” by radio as well as press outlets.

Verde Prato offers further evidence music being offered around the world is fascinating and unique – something that has been around for quite some time, but the added attraction of the Internet and streaming radio make ease of access an imperative for the listener to go exploring. There’s a lot to be amazed by – just listen, starting here.

Summer is over, Winter is around the corner and everybody is back at work or school. If you’re in school you’re probably knee-deep in History – tests, reports, papers – homework. Reading about things that happened decades before you were born – can’t quite wrap your head around it. If you’re a teacher, it’s like pulling teeth to get your students even remotely interested in what happened before they were born. If you’re at work, you may be one of those people in middle-management who have to do presentations – something to amaze your boss and your colleagues – no pressure, but you have to deliver the goods, usually yesterday. Not to brag, but Past Daily is one website where you can find out about a lot of things you didn’t know about – hear things you aren’t familiar with – and by becoming a subscriber you can download all this audio (at last count over 10,000 sound files) you can build your own reference library, a mouse click away. You can also go exploring by using the Search Engine to dig deep.
