Bug Teeth
Bug Teeth – not sure about the curious green caps though.

Bug Teeth from the Float Away Festival in Sheffield, recorded in September of this year by BBC 6 Music for BBC Introducing.

Curious name for a band, however the band is pretty wonderful – so what’s in a name, anyway?

Bug Teeth started out in 2018 as the solo project of front-person PJ. Since the release of their ambient-pop debut EP, When All the World Has Gone to Bed, Bug Teeth has grown to a full band, and supported sold-out shows with The Orielles, deathcrash, bdrmm, English Teacher and Melody’s Echo Chamber. They have also played slots for Latitude Festival, Live at Leeds, Wild Paths, Deer Shed, and Sound City (Ipswich). Bug Teeth has been consistently supported by BBC Radio 1, Radio 6 Music, BBC Introducing, and Amazing Radio.

Latest single ‘Landscaping’ is the ethereal culmination of Bug Teeth as a full band, and details PJ’s experience of grief with glitching drums, flute, and cavernous shoegaze guitar. Landscaping has been featured and reviewed by BBC Introducing, SoYoung Magazine, Far Out, DIY, Rough Trade, Ninja Tune, Eat Your Own Ears and Under the Radar.

Recent EP Lucky Me, Lucky Mud transcends genre to experiment with electronic ambience, DnB breakbeats, soaring vocals and glittering dreampop, pulling literary references together with innumerable points of inspiration and their signature ethereality.

Thanks to Launchpad for the bio information – sometimes it’s tough when you aren’t familiar with a band and you can’t find out anything about them. Fortunately there’s a few sites here and there who more than make up for the lack of bio rundowns.

At any rather, it’s a short one – and again, promises to be part of a much larger picture.

But in the meantime…
