Benni – Transforming painful stories into works of striking beauty.

Ending the week with Benni, recorded in Brussels at Ancienne Belgique on November 26, 2025 by RTL.

Calming things down a few degrees and lending an ear to the plaintive and soothing notes from Benni, a Belgian singer-songwriter who has taken inspiration from Damien Rice, Daughter, and Phoebe Bridgers. She shapes her songs around a utopian yet deeply authentic universe that is entirely her own. Fascinating and unconventional, her voice captivates from the very first note and carries within it the power to transform painful stories into works of striking beauty.
Immersed in creativity since childhood, Benni remains an inherently introverted soul. Yet at the symbolic threshold of her 18th birthday, she decided to shatter the boundaries of her reality and give shape to the dreams she had long harbored. A life-changing choice followed: she set off alone on an adventure to New Zealand. On the other side of the world, she discovered herself over the course of 10 months — immersing herself in new cultures.
It was in the city of Auckland that a street musician awakened in Benni the certainty that she, too, could lift her voice to the horizon. Armed with her guitar and her courage, she took the leap, banishing the nightmares that had loomed before her until then.
Back in Belgium, Benni turned to her own compositions, enrolling in the Concours Circuit where she finished as a finalist in 2020. Performance opportunities multiplied, even though none of her tracks were available on streaming platforms and led her to open for artists such as Cœur de Pirate, November Ultra, and Clara Ysé, to step onto the stages of the Cirque Royal, the Botanique, and the Francofolies de Spa, and to feature in showcase festivals like Fifty Lab and We Are Open. Building on this journey, Benni unveiled her highly anticipated debut EP, ‘Bleeding Colours’, on [PIAS] Recordings in April 2025.
A true colorist of emotion, she possesses a distinctive power at the core of her sensitive world: synesthesia. Letters, words, numbers, scents, feelings, people, and sounds—all assume a specific color in Benni’s eyes. This unique sense also resonates in the EP’s title, which holds a double meaning. As a canvas of these singular sensations, the seven-track record further recounts the chapters of a painful love story: one that takes over every space, gnaws at the heart, and leaves you drained..
Benni enchants every ear that hears her. With both feet firmly on the ground and her gaze set on the horizon, she shows no sign of stopping as she continues to brighten the world she creates.
