Something brand new. So brand new it was released only yesterday. The debut single from the French/UK Post-Punk/Noise Rock band Chest.
Self-Sabotage is the debut single and it comes ahead of their debut EP which is slated to drop in early 2025.
Chest is made up of survivors of various bands, three of the members are sound engineers and their lead singer is from the UK. At present they are on an extended stay at the Supersonic Club in Paris and so far, word is positive and those who are familiar with the various former bands Chest were in are very high on the possibilities of this new venture being a smash success.
So tonight it’s their debut single with the promise of more previews coming up before the EP comes out.
It would be nice if a few U.S. stations got hold of Chest’s offerings and started to build up word-of-mouth on this side of the Atlantic. But for the time being, it’s social media doing the heavy lifting. So my suggestion would be to head over to Howlin’ Banana’s website.
Howlin’ Banana has been around since 2011 and is one of the best of the Indie/Alternative/Experimental labels in France at the moment. Further proof the world is getting busy and making progress and music is a crucial element in that progress.
