Continuing the look back at Week One of Coachella this year with a performance by Interpol from the first night, last Friday.
With some rearranging of personnel (namely, the departure of bassist Carlos Dengler and vocalist Paul Banks taking over bass duties, Interpol are back on track after getting involved in a series side projects from 2007 and a hiatus in 2011 to 2012. With the release of their fifth album El Pintor last September, they’ve been on a heavy touring schedule.
So their appearance at Coachella this year was a kickoff to what will be a whirlwind tour of Festivals around Europe from May to September this year.
A much anticipated set, which didn’t disappoint – they are poised to do it all over again this coming weekend.
