Kingfishr – Picked Music over Electrical Engineering – wise choice.
Diving into Friday with a set by Kingfishr at this year’s Outside Lands Festival – recorded on August 9, 2026.
A band that’s been together since 2017, Kingfishr have made inroads to becoming household names and offer further evidence the musical climate in Ireland is healthy, essential and inspiring.
Kingfishr formed in Limerick in 2017, made up of Eddie Keogh, Eoghan “McGoo” McGrath, and Eoin “Fitz” Fitzgibbon. Their song “Killeagh” was released in 2024 and reached number one on the Irish Singles Chart on 2 May 2025. They initially started off as an acoustic trio, achieving huge success with their debut single “Killeagh”. Since then, they’ve been adding electric elements to the mix and diving into more complex arrangements. With the release of Halcyon in August of last year, the chart successes are continuing.
The current tour has been a wild success, further proving Kingfishr are destined for great things, despite the recent departure of Fitz Fitzgibbon, who announced leaving temporarily and not touring this Summer, though still with the band.
This appearance at Outside lands a few weeks ago, gives some idea of what Kingfishr are up to with fans. Great show, amazing concert – tremendous enthusiasm – perfect Summer festival stuff. They are currently heading for other Summer festivals this year, so it’s a good idea to check where they are playing next and line up for tickets. You’ll be glad you did.
Okay – crank it up:
And while you’re at it, helping save our butts would be very appreciated.
