Staying in Stockholm tonight for a concert by Singer-Songwriter Jessie Ware, in concert at Sveriges Radio P3 Studios, recorded this  past February 28th.

Ware is one of those amazing overnight sensations – well, not really. Around for a while and confined to the role of backup singer for a number of acts, Jessie Ware finally stepped out on her own last year and was met with rave reviews and skyrocketing album sales. And by the looks of it, there seems to be no sign of letting up. She has a new and much-anticipated album slated for release shortly.

Falling into a sort of Retro/R&B/Soul/Indie place, Ware’s talent makes her success clearly apparent. She knows her way around a song and phrases it exquisitely.  There have been comparisons to Sade in how she shapes a song. But Jessie Ware is her own person, and its no wonder she wasn’t destined to stay in a support role for every long,

She fills this 45 minute set with some very smooth and delicious material, and it makes for a mellow evening all around.

And considering how insane the week has been . . . .mellow goes very well right about now.

Enjoy and check her out if she hits your town. Ticket sales I suspect will be brisk.
