Chvrches have only been around since 2011 and only started making waves in 2013 when they managed to get on most of the “best of” lists around Europe and became one of the main bands to watch in the coming year.

Tonight its one of their German “introducing” gigs from early in May of 2013. I’m not sure of the venue but am guessing it’s Munich, although it might be Berlin – as the date didn’t show up on their site’s itinerary, but Munich, Frankfurt and Berlin are all in there someplace. So . . .

Two years after their formation, Chvrches released Recover EP in March 2013, which included hits “The Mother We Share” and “Recover”. Their debut studio album, The Bones of What You Believe, was released on 20 September 2013, while the band was ranked fifth on the Sound of 2013 list by the BBC.Two years later, on 25 September 2015, the group released their second album, Every Open Eye. Their third album, Love Is Dead, was released on 25 May 2018. Their fourth album, Screen Violence, was released on 27 August 2021.

On 11 November 2021, Chvrches began their Screen Violence album tour in North America and finished their first leg on 17 December. Chvrches second leg started with dates across the United Kingdom in March 2022 then continuing on after that to tour Mexico, United States and Canada. During this tour they played at the Hollywood Bowl for their first time Co-Headlining with Grace Jones. End of 2022 they performed at Australian festivals, Falls festivals and Heaps Good festival and after that went to Japan to do two Headliner shows in Tokyo and Osaka. After returning to the US they performed at iHeart Radio’s ALTer EGO 23′ at the KIA Forum in Los Angeles, CA.

In March 2023, the band toured Brazil for the first time as an opening for Coldplay on their Music of the Spheres World Tour. The band also performed two headliner shows while there. In May 2023, the band opened on all four nights of Coldplay’s Music of the Spheres World Tour concerts in Barcelona, Spain.
