Ten years ago today, Hurricane Katrina was bearing down on New Orleans in what became one of the most devastating natural disasters in American history.
Just another hurricane during hurricane season, Katrina grew in strength as the day went on; each hour the winds were clocked higher, the category inched up and the direction slowly changed until it was heading directly to New Orleans. As a reminder, here are news reports from CNN Radio, from 1:00 in the morning to 7:00 in the evening on August 28th, before Katrina hit land and changed people’s lives forever.
