Bottle Rockets to end the week – recorded in session at BBC Scotland on July 5th as part of their winning Scottish Act Of The Year at BBC Introducing in April of this year – beating out 500 other bands for the honor. Since Bottle Rockets have only been together since 2021 and since April have been booked for a series of club dates all over the UK as well as hitting the Festivals this summer starting with TRNSMT, it could classify as a meteoric rise for a band who, by their own admission, were suffering from Imposter Syndrome only months earlier.
No imposters, this bunch. In a short period of time they’ve nailed down their sound and direction and are getting rave reaction throughout the Music community. A solid foundation in Shoegaze (which has never lost interest), they’ve been busy honing skills and facing a pretty hectic schedule from here on out. Propelled by the success of their debut single “When I Tell You”, they are taking massive advantage of every possible avenue, getting their message across and insuring that Bottle Rockets are going to be around for a while.
I suspect at some point soon or sometime this year, they will head over to the U.S. to test the waters in America. Fingers crossed.
In the meantime – get ready for the weekend.
As you probably know by now, Past Daily is going through a few changes. Over the past several months we’ve been introducing new features and losing old ones. We’ve begun to run ads, only because we really need the income to stay online and hope this isn’t a problem. Of course, if you consider subscribing and becoming a Patron via Patreon, you get the posts ad-free and the option to download all the audio we post here – our way of saying thank you for your support. Joining Patreon is easy and we’ve made it even easier for you by offering you a free trial to kick the tires, as it were. All you have to do is click on the red box just below, the one that says Become A Patron, and be part of the family. We’ll be offering more perks as time goes on – but we need to get stable first and we can only do that with your support. So do everybody a favor and join us – we’d love to have you!
And there always coffee:
