It seems as though a week hasn’t gone by with hearing bad news about the loss of yet another major figure in the evolution of Rock Music.
Today it was the sad news of the passing of Andy Fraser, the man who gave us the groundwork for one of Rock’s great Anthems; Free’sAll Right Now.
Ironically, I ran another concert from Free, an earlier one just a few days ago. Tonight it’s one via Sveriges Radio in Sweden, from a concert given at Radiohuset in Stockholm on December 12, 1970.
And tributes have been pouring in – celebrating the man and the musician. And there is little if anything I can add, other than Free were one of the great groups to come out of the late 60s and early 1970s. And even though they were together for a relatively short period of time, left an indelible mark on music. And Andy Fraser’s contribution can never be understated.

And he will be missed.
Play loud – he would have liked that.
