Go Go Berlin
Go Go Berlin – Hard Rock revival? Or maybe it never went away.

Go Go Berlin for a Friday morning. Playing the Crossroads Festival in Bonn, Germany and recorded October 23, 2014 by WDR-Bonn.

Don’t know about you, but I thought I had the wrong date when I was getting ready to put this post up. I could have sworn we were smack in the middle of 1973 and this was a band opening for perhaps Aerosmith or maybe even Alice Cooper.

It didn’t hit me that it was actually a 2014 concert gig and Go Go Berlin are a pretty popular band around Europe.

In case you didn’t know – Go Go Berlin is a Danish Hard rock band established in 2010 in Silkeborg, Denmark and signed with the record label Mermaid and with Sony Music for distribution. The band has released the album New Gold that charted in its first week of release in Tracklisten, the official Danish Albums Chart. Described as one of Denmark’s strongest live acts, they appeared at the Roskilde Festival and Skanderborg Festival in 2013. Their second album, Electric Lives, has been recorded in Hansa Tonstudio and released in August 2015.

I will admit – and being totally honest – Hard Rock isn’t one of my go-to genres. I overdosed on it in the early 70s and got caught up with other things (Prog being one). But since I am a big believer in keeping an open mind, and since it is a far from neglected genre I’m running it because it’s Friday and the end of the week and maybe Death Metal might be a bit extreme at the moment.

Go Go Berlin are alive and well and kicking with a revolving door of personnel – if you know them and are a fan, my apologies for being perplexed.

Here comes the weekend – I have a hunch it’s going to be crazier as we head in the direction of November. We need all the distraction we can get.
