Adore
Adore – togetherness

Adore at the 2024 BBC Radio Ulster Introducing Festival earlier this year.

Adore are an Irish trio making waves and bringing their raucous, garage punk to a gig near you soon. The lineup is frontwoman Lara Minchin on guitar and vocals, Lachlann Ó Fionnáin on bass and vocals, Naoise Jordan Cavanagh on drums. The perfect trifecta.

Only formed in 2022, there’s already an almighty buzz about Adore with London gigs and an appearance at Electric Picnic already under their belts. So far it’s been all about the gigs. They’ve been busy recording with their debut single Postcards is out now on digital platforms and 7″ vinyl and latest release Supermum! streaming everywhere.

Adore’s latest single is Supermum!, the follow up to live favourite Postcards.

The track is produced by Gilla Band bassist Daniel Fox, and takes the straight ahead Speedy Wunderground approach, prioritising authenticity, honesty and passion over everything.

Supermum! explores the everyday normalisation of sexual assault and abuse. Summoning the bite and power of Justine Frischmann and Elastica, frontwoman and lyricist Lara Minchin recalls an upbringing which placed a focus on politeness and acquiescence, highlighting the pervasive power imbalances that can lead to victimisation.

Definitely a band to keep an eye on – a lot of interest and positive reaction to Adore ever since they got started. I would suggest heading over to the Blowtorch Records site and grab their releases so far – get on their mailing list – keep track of them and get their new stuff. They could use your support and they are worth it.

Okay, ’nuff out of me.
