It just came to my attention that the month of October was given over to featuring new bands in a live setting at the BBC Radio Introducing series. This one comes via the Tenement Trail Festival in Glasgow and features several bands who have been gathering positive vibes and enthusiasm from the audience as well as the presenters. And on this side of the Atlantic, it’s making wonderful new discoveries and providing further ample evidence new Music and new artists are coming out of the woodwork with no end in sight and it’s a feast.
Tonight it’s Peach Crumb from October 18th.
Peach Crumb, named after an anagram of singer Becca Murphy’s name (minus the Y), are a pop-infused outfit based in Glasgow. Becca started Peach Crumb as a solo project in late 2021, transitioning into its current form in early 2023 adding three further members; Aidan McAllister, Daniel Blake and most recently Ross Coulter.
As well as two hugely successful headline shows at The Old Hairdresser’s and King Tut’s in Glasgow, the band are active in the Scottish music scene in multiple ways, Becca recently curated Hybrid festival, a DIY, non-profit festival held at Drygate Brewery, which Raised £1500 for the participating artists and their chosen charity, as well as co-founding ‘Treacle’, a creative collective filming live sessions and music videos, alongside Peach Crumb members Daniel and Ross.
Two singles issued earlier this year and available via Bandcamp (head over there and grab one or both)
Three songs and a much needed release of stress – just what the doctor ordered.
Dive in – go over to Bandcamp – stay in touch and support them.
As you probably know by now, Past Daily has been going through a few changes. Over the past several months we’ve been introducing new features and losing old ones. All you have to do is click on the red box just below, the one that says Become A Patron, and be part of the family. You can support us one time or forever; your choice. We’ll be offering more perks as time goes on – but we need to get stable first and we can only do that with your support. So do everybody a favor and join us – we’d love to have you!
