Past Daily is about this archive — these sounds, this music, this history.

If you’ve spent any time here you probably know what we’re all about. Past Daily is a website – but the website depends on the archive – the Archive is what I run every day, all day long. Thousands and thousands of hours of history – news – speeches – music – popular culture – the obvious and the arcane. It’s all here – and it’s all available to you.

Sadly, the archive cannot run on it’s own; be a constant source of financial replenishment. Over the years we’re resorted to Fund Raisers, daily appeals via Patreon, Buy Me A Coffee, PayPal; every place that takes a donation and turns it into funding to keep the archive up and running.

And it takes a lot, especially now when support is sparse and dollars are getting rare. So many sites like mine are scrambling for whatever seeds we can grab on to in order to pull us through another month.

But I do it because I history and I love information and I love turning people onto things. I think it’s important to be aware of the world around you, aware that just about everything that is going on now has gone on before. We have always been a world full of heroes and villains; it’s just the nature of things. But to be aware of that, aware that it’s happened before and has, by some miracle, been resolved – it gives hope that we are not as doomed today as we think we are.

And I’m trying to remind you of that.

And I need your help to keep me doing it. Right now, we have a Go Fund Me up and running, but we also have Buy Me A Coffee and PayPal. We also have a new feature; Fractured Atlas, a portal by which your contributions can be considered tax-free and a write off to a non-profit. If you have $1,000 or $50,000 or more and you wish to donate, and receive a benefit on your 2026 Tax bill, may I suggest you consider us as a worthy candidate?

And those of you who asked why we still run ads, some to the point of distraction and annoyance. We have to run ads because that’s the only way we’re generating any income for Past Daily. It’s a necessary inconvenience. But if you are already a subscriber on Patreon, you don’t see any ads – you just get the article, the sound and the ability to download the sound for your own library. So consider Patreon as a potential source: https://www.patreon.com/cw/Gordonskene

Otherwise, consider Fractured Atlas: Donate now at Fractured Atlas!

Or, during the next couple of weeks Go Fund Me:

So however you choose to do it, please consider doing it. It would make all the difference in the world.
