And another loss today. This time it’s ace-sax player and Rolling Stones sideman Bobby Keys, who had been associated with some of the most iconic music in Rock passed away earlier today at age 70.
A fixture with The Rolling Stones for over 40 years, Keys had a long career, stretching back to Buddy Holly when Keys was a teenager. His list of credits and collaborations is endless, From Delaney & Bonnie and Joe Cocker to John Lennon – Keys was an integral part of the Music scene from the 1950s all the way up to his death earlier today. He never stopped.
An amazing career.
As a reminder of his immense talent, and as a tribute to the memory of one of the legends of Rock, here is a performance with his own band, The Suffering Bastards, recorded live at a gig at The Cannery Ballroom in Nashville on February 11, 2012.
