I guess rather than tell you about the world of Rock during the first week of April 1977, just listen to it and see how many names ring bells and how many don’t.
A lot of familiar names, but as you can tell by listening to this 6 minute rundown, nothing about Punk and nothing too far removed from the mainstream. But this was 1977 and the world was still in the grips of Disco and still in the grips of wretched excess.
How things would change only a few years later, but for 1977 things were still pretty safe considering, for the most part.
