The Beaches – million watt energy.

Friday Lunch with The Beaches – from their gig at Pinkpop on June 21st of this year and preserved for posterity by VPRO.

What I enjoy about The Beach is this boundless torrent of energy they infuse in their live concerts. It’s not made up. They clearly love what they do and they love that the audiences loves it as well. Energy exchange between artist and audience goes under the heading of Transformative – it’s what makes Music the glue that holds the spirit together and transcends everyday life.

No pressure on The Beaches, of course. Just saying we love what they do and they make no pretenses about it.

And apparently, from the looks of it, they’ve gathered a huge following as the result.

It’s been a steady rise for the band, a lot having to do with the overwhelming popularity of their latest single, Edge Of The Earth and the Off Campus Prime Time Video series which has translated into a larger, broader audience. Since May, The Beaches have added another 5 million monthly Spotify listeners.

All further evidence the band are on to something and they are rapidly heading into Household Name territory.

If you’ve missed their gig at this years Pinkpop Festival show, here’s a chance to grab lunch, sit down and crank this one up.

Works wonders and will get you ready for the weekend. Guaranteed.
