Over to Munich by way of Rome this week for a live concert featuring The Bavarian Radio Symphony, conducted by Andris Nelsons and featuring Soprano Barbara Hannigan in music of Abrahamsen and Dvorak. It was broadcast live from Munich on July 3rd by Bavarian Radio and relayed to RAI Radio 3 in Rome.

Hannigan, who has spellbound audiences with her riveting performances in Lulu is offering something a bit more sedate this time around – A song cycle for Soprano and Orchestra by Danish Contemporary Composer Hans Abrahamsen to texts by Paul Griffiths, Let Me Tell You. The work is dedicated to her, and she gave the premier with The Berlin Philharmonic in 2013. Followed by Dvorak’s Symphony Number 6.

Spread out between two players- the top player is the Abrahamsen and the bottom player is the Dvorak. Here’s what’s on the program:
