Over to Italy this week for a concert by Orchestra di Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, guest conducted by Juraj Valcuha and featuring Evgeni Bozhanov in the Rachmaninov Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini and the Opus 42 Waltz by Chopin for an encore.
A pretty straight-ahead concert – starting off with Debussy‘s Prèlude à l’après-midi d’un Faune. And then the Rachmaninov and Chopin. And finishing up with a Suite from Strauss’ Die Frau ohne Schatten and ending with Ravel‘s La Valse. It was recorded by RAI on October 26th last year.
Nice concert all around. Perfect Anti-Road Rage material.
Since it is Wednesday and all . . .
Enjoy.
