The Futureheads – Even Noel Gallagher called them “the weirdest band I’ve ever seen”.

The Futureheads In Session 2010

I first discovered The Futureheads on Myspace around the time their second album had come out. They were gathering a good word of mouth and gigging pretty consistently. That was almost 18 years ago and a lot has happened in all that time. A string of successful singles and four albums to their credit, The Futureheads have became one of England’s most popular post-Punk bands and all the work and slogging paid off.

They continued on until announcing their hiatus in 2015. During the down time, the individual band members released solo and side projects before deciding it was time to pick up where they left off in 2019.

Since that time they’ve continued recording and gigging. Their latest endeavor, Christmas which came out in 2025 was accompanied by a tour as well as the release of a compilation album, Decent Days And Nights: The Singles on Cherry Red Records.

To jog your memory, here is a session they did on July 21, 2010 at XFM-104.9, a relatively new independent Rock station in London (which I believe became Radio X since then).

Here’s the rundown:

1. I Can Do That
2. Man Ray
3. The Chaos

Since we’re heading to the end of the week, I thought it might good to increase the voltage a bit. If you aren’t familiar with this band, now’s a great opportunity to get acquainted.
